UPDATE ON EMS SERVICES FOR SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP

To continue to provide pertinent information to our residents concerning EMS services for Springfield Township, the Board of Supervisors would like to pass on a message that was received last week from Upper Bucks Regional EMS.  This is our third communication concerning EMS services for the township.

The message is as follows:

Good afternoon.

St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services (SLETS) and Upper Bucks Regional EMS, Inc. (UBREMS) have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent for SLETS to acquire UBREMS, thereby enhancing the two organizations’ mutual commitment to providing high-quality Emergency Medical Care to the residents of Bedminster, Bridgeton, Durham, Haycock, Nockamixon, Richland, Springfield, Tinicum Townships, and Riegelsville Boro.

This Letter of Intent will enable SLETS and UBREMS to continue due diligence, including engaging each municipality to ensure continuous emergency ambulance coverage within the region.

Proposed timeline:

  • Execution of Letter of Intent – July 1, 2025
  • Preparation of Definitive Agreements – August 15, 2025
  • Execution of Definitive Agreements & Closing – September 1, 2025

The leadership teams of UBREMS and SLETS will be contacting each municipality to schedule question-and-answer sessions in the forthcoming weeks. Additionally, we aim to establish a designated point of contact for each municipality to facilitate communication. This process will ensure all parties are kept informed and receive regular status updates.

We extend our gratitude for your cooperation and look forward to creating a long-standing relationship with each municipality to collectively serve the residents of Upper Bucks County.

Sincerely,

Anthony Mills

Board President, UBREMS

The Springfield Township Board of Supervisors considers this “Letter of Intent” to be a very positive move in securing additional long term EMS services for the residents of not only the township but the surrounding areas. We will continue to provide additional information as it becomes available.
