Springfield Township to Host Electronics Recycling Event on October 10

Springfield Township residents looking to clear out old, broken, or outdated electronics can participate in an upcoming Electronics Recycling Event hosted in partnership with Responsible Recycling Services (RRS). The collection drive offers a convenient way to dispose of household e-waste and small appliances responsibly.

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026

• Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or until trucks reach capacity)

• Location: Springfield Elementary School, 1950 PA 212, Quakertown, PA 18951

As a general rule, if the item plugs in, it can be recycled.

Free Acceptable Items

The following items will be accepted free of charge:

• Desktop computers (monitors incur a fee)

• Laptops, tablets, cell phones, and home/office telephones

• Printers, fax machines, ink cartridges, keyboards, and mice

• Cables, cords, chargers, calculators, and UPS battery backups

• DVD players, VCRs, and gaming systems

• Microwaves, small appliances, exercise equipment, and filing cabinets

• Car batteries (sealed lead acid)

• Metal items, water heaters, and empty propane or helium tanks

• Grills and lawn mowers (all fluids must be completely drained prior to drop-off)

Items Accepted for a Fee

Certain large appliances, displays, and specialty electronics require a fee to cover handling and processing:

• Washers, Dryers, Dishwashers, Stoves: $20

• Computer Monitors & All-in-One Computers: $20

• Televisions under 42" (CRT or Flat Screen): $40

• TVs over 42" (Flat Screen, Console, Projection, Tube, or Broken Screen): $60

• Water Coolers & Mini Fridges: $25

• Refrigerators: $35

• Floor Freezers: $35

• Air Conditioners & Dehumidifiers: $25

• Floor Copiers: $20

• Toner Cartridges: $5

• Console Stereos (in cabinet): $35

Destruction Services

For residents seeking secure disposal of sensitive information, offsite destruction services will be offered:

• Hard Drive Destruction (offsite): $10 per drive

• Document Shredding/Destruction (offsite): $10 per standard paper-size box
