Right to Know
Act 3 of 2008 is Pennsylvania’s Right-To-Know Law. On December 15, 2008, the Board of Supervisors’ adopted Resolution #2008-112 which establishes the procedure by which Springfield Township will address requests made for records under the Right-To-Know Law.

Request for Records
Requests shall be in writing and directed to the Right-to-Know Officer at the Township Municipal Building. Written requests shall be on a form provided by the Township or the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records and shall include the date of the request, the name and address of the requestor, and a clear description of the records sought.

Appeals Process
If a written request is denied or deemed denied, the requestor may file an appeal with the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records, 333 Market Street, 16th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17126-0333, openrecords@pa.gov, within 15 business days of the mailing date of the Township's denial. The exceptions shall state grounds on which the requestor asserts that the record is a public record and shall address any grounds stated by the Township for denying the request.
